In Memoriam Pat Courtney passed away in 2003. We were teammates with the Chicago Colleens of the AAGPBL. Later we played on a softball team together in the Boston area for many years. Pat was from Everett, MA, and the city of Everett dedicated a public plaque in memory of Pat and her achievements. For my book, "A League of My Own," I interviewed Pat and told her story. Pat was looking forward to going to the 60th Anniversary of the founding of the AAGPBL Reunion at the Baseball Hall of Fame, but she died shortly before the reunion. We missed you, Pat. |

Chicago, 2003. My nephew, Trevor Brown, was chosen to do a display in his school's library. He decided to do a sports presentation, and, much to my surprise, he included my baseball card, a copy of my book,"A League of My Own", and a Red Sox pennant with other memorabilia. My favorite team is the Boston Red Sox. Nice going Trevor. |
